Selling your boat with us

Cove Yacht Brokerage has changed the market for the boat seller in Weymouth for the good. You no longer have to pay some of the highest commission rates on the South Coast and for the first time you have a real choice of whom to help you sell your boat  – whatever the boat.

We hope you will choose us, and to help you decide we’d like to introduce you to our Cove Yacht Brokerage service principles:

How we Sell your Boat:

Where possible we will view your boat with a view to it’s equipment, condition and how it presents.  Following background research we will give you a valuation and guidance on pricing.

If you accept our terms and fees we can advise you on how best to present the boat before moving rapidly to photograph, detail and then list your boat.

Your boat will be advertised in our very well situated window, on our much commended web site at www.coveyachts.co.uk and on (depending on boat type) Yachtworld.com, Apollo Duck, Boatshop24 and Boats and Outboards.  We also and on an occasional basis advertise in the Marine press.

We will review the level of interest we receive and talk to you regularly about the progress of the sale of your boat.

We will lead any and all viewings, presenting you boat in the best light.

We will put any offers received to you and then handle negotiations on your behalf to get you the best price.

If the offer is acceptable we will on your behalf handle all of the paperwork and payment of deposit monies, using comprehensive approved documentation to give a dependable legal sale process.

We will make the process as easy as possible for the buyer with timely advice and, where requested, recommendations on for example berthing, delivering, insurance, finance, surveyors and sea trial arrangements.

Upon successful completion of a survey or sea trial (if requested) we will collect any remaining monies due, validate ownership, and prepare the final documents/Bill of Sale.  A date for ‘completion’ of sale will be agreed with you at which time you will receive payment less any fees.

This summary, which does not claim to be comprehensive, is designed to give you some idea of the process.  We promise to do our utmost to make it as transparent, smooth and effective for both buyer and seller as possible.  If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
